Machete Music Dominates Premios Lo Nuestro's Urban Category Again

Record label Machete Music receives 4 nominations in the Urban category to Premio Lo Nuestro and 1 nomination in the Tropical category.

 •         "King Of Kings" - Don Omar / Artista Del Año (Urban Category)

Don Omar is currently on his World Tour.  Recently he sold out concerts in  Connecticut, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, taking Reggaeton to another level with his show being considered as a Broadway style extravaganza. Don Omar will resume his tour in January 26 in Miami, February 16th in Fort Myers and the 17th in Orlando.   Other cities where Don Omar performed this year are: Rome, London, Barcelona, various cities in Mexico and also visited US Troops in South Korea.  

 His album, 'King Of Kings' is nearing 1 million copies sold and the songs "Angelito", Salio El Sol" and "Conteo" have made it to the top of the charts in United States and Latin America.   Don Omar was invited to participate in Chile's biggest music festival "Viña Del Mar" next year and promises to give the best performance of the night.  

 Don Omar just released his second album as producer "Los Bandoleros Reloaded" which launched on November 21 st  and will soon launch his "King Of Kings Armageddon Edition" album which will hit the stores November 19th. This album contains 2cds+dvd with unreleased videos such as Salio El Sol and Belly Danza feat. Beenie Man  and four new tracks. Don Omar will be visiting Miami the first week of January 2007 to promote this new album.

   •         "Pa'l Mundo" - Wisin y Yandel / Artista Del Año – Album Del Año – Canción Del Año (Urban Category)

Wisin & Yandel once again made history by being the only exponents of their genre to participate in the song "One Day", the theme song for the United Nations concert for peace.  The event will take place December 9th in the Rome Coliseum in Italy.

 The duo collaborated with various international stars that included Jennifer López, Marc Anthony, Sean Paul, Cassidy, Chris Brown, and many others on the song.  The song was produced by the multi Grammy winner Swizz Beatz, whom Wisin & Yandel had previously worked with on the song "Wanna Ride", theme to the movie "Take the Lead", starring Antonio Banderas.

 On another note, Wisin & Yandel are celebrating that after 57  weeks of the release of their album "Pa'l Mundo", they're still on top of the charts with certified sales by RIAA.

 The duo just released their first album as producers "Wisin y Yandel Presentan: Los Vaqueros" which hit stores on November 7th debuting # 2 on Soundscan.  "Los Vaqueros" is the first release from their record label WY Records, where they launched new talent from their label like El Tío, Gadiel and Lobo. This production also has the participation of recognized artists such as: Franco "El Gorila" and Tony Dize.

 • "Back To The Barrio" – Michael Stuart  / Artista Del Año (Tropical Category)

 Michael Stuart is currently working on his second album thru Machete Music which will launch second quarter of 2007.  He is in the process of choosing his repertoire as well as writing a few songs for his album.   Michael Stuart rank #1 on the National R&R Latin Club Chart and reached Top 20 on Billboard's Tropical Charts with three of his songs: "Mayor Que Yo", "Ella y Yo" feat. Tito Rojas and "Paga Lo Que Debes".

   Machete Music once again is the leader in urban music and continues to demonstrate its' strength in the market with the strongest artists of the genre.
